As it turns out my
mum's cousin owns a cat. That seems all well and normal but this cat… is really
something. I'm not sure on the details on how
said cat was acquired but it's very hostile from what I hear. It looks
all cute and fluffy one moment but when you try and pat it, consider your
fingers gone. I haven't personally experienced this hostility as of yet and I
don't plan to.
We were instructed
not to pick up the cat or touch it, so when I switched on the bathroom light
and found the cat sitting there staring at me, I may have panicked a little.
But I wasn't prepared to back down. So I did what every normal person would do
when on the enemy's turf, I flattened myself against the wall and inched closer
to the sink while avoiding eye contact. I think the cat either thought it stood
no chance against me, or that I wasn't worth wasting time on but it retreated
and made itself comfortable on the bathroom mat.
Suffice to say, I
spent the next 5 minutes being silently judged by a cat while I brushed my
teeth.
